CAIRO – Secretary-General of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) Alaa Ezz lauded amendments approved by the Finance Ministry on amending some provisions of the executive regulations of the Customs Law and simplifying procedures to reduce customs release time, stressing that they help to support export-led growth plans and revitalize markets.
In statements to MENA on Friday, Ezz stressed the importance of these amendments that will facilitate customs clearance and reduce the burden incurred by the importer and save on demurrage and per diem detention charges, a matter that reduces the final product cost.
He added that speeding up customs will enhance the industry’s activities.
