AIC for Security Systems and Infrastructure has been awarded a significant contract to implement advanced light current systems and smart gate technologies in New Cairo, with investments exceeding £195 million. This project aims to link New Cairo with the New Administrative Capital and was won after AIC successfully competed against 17 other local and international firms.
Informed sources have revealed that AIC is currently managing five key projects under the auspices of the New Cairo City Authority and the Administrative Capital. The company is set to complete these projects by the end of the next fiscal year, enhancing security and efficiency in the region.
The initiatives include the installation of state-of-the-art light current systems and security frameworks, along with the introduction of smart card systems and digital gates powered by artificial intelligence. Al Maalem International Company will play a crucial role in preparing the project’s infrastructure, employing advanced technologies aimed at reducing electricity consumption.
In addition to the New Cairo project, AIC has signed development contracts with one of Egypt’s largest investment banks for the overhaul of its 53 branches nationwide. This represents a major expansion of AIC’s portfolio. The company is also engaged in significant projects such as the Diamond Mall near New Cairo, where it is overseeing a comprehensive parking management system that is already 75% complete. Other projects include collaborations with the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Transport.
Dr. Mahmoud Kamel, Chairman and Managing Director of AIC, noted that while the company is focused on large-scale projects, it also handles numerous medium and small-scale endeavors. These include maintenance contracts and installations tailored to client needs.
Founded in 1995, AIC began its journey in countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE before establishing a presence in Europe and entering the Egyptian market in 2014. Initially a joint venture with foreign partners, AIC transitioned to a fully Egyptian-owned entity in 2019, with a paid-up capital of £50 million.
AIC operates across five business sectors, specializing in card issuance with encryption systems, entry and exit control systems, electronic gates for individuals and vehicles, radiation detection systems for security, and advanced computing systems for tracking and barcoding.
Dr. Kamel emphasized AIC’s commitment to quality, noting that the company utilizes products from the world’s leading manufacturers, ensuring a high standard of security and surveillance solutions. AIC’s extensive project history includes significant undertakings at the Mall of Egypt, Safaga Port, and various prestigious institutions, solidifying its reputation as a key player in Egypt’s security systems industry.
