Egypt has delivered emergency relief to Lebanon as the country faces worsening humanitarian conditions. A ship carrying 1,000 tons of aid arrived in Beirut on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The shipment included food baskets, blankets, shelter supplies, medicines, and medical equipment. The goal is to help Lebanese authorities respond to the health crisis and ease the strain of internal displacement, which has reached nearly one million people.
The effort was led by Egypt’s “Tahya Misr” Fund, with support from the Egyptian Red Crescent, Bayt al-Zakat, and the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Ministry of Health. Civil society groups also joined in preparing the aid. Coordination was carried out with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure smooth delivery.
Egypt stressed that this humanitarian effort reflects consistent support for Lebanon. Cairo also condemned repeated Israeli attacks and incursions into Lebanese territory, calling them violations of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701. Egypt reaffirmed its support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and unity, urging an immediate halt to Israeli aggression.
This latest action highlights Egypt’s dual role: providing urgent humanitarian assistance while maintaining strong diplomatic support for Lebanon.
