Egypt’s government has denied news circulated on the internet and social media networking pages about citizens receiving cash benefits worth 3,000 pounds from the Social Solidarity Ministry.
The Cabinet’s media center said Wednesday that it had contacted the Social Solidarity Ministry, which dismissed the news as baseless rumors. Messages that are being forwarded in this regard are false, the Ministry stressed.
All grants and social assistance programs designed for families with limited income are officially announced on the Ministry’s website, moss.gov.eg, it noted.
The media center urged citizens to verify any information from bodies concerned so as not to circulate false news.
