Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister stressed that the Egyptian agricultural sector realized an unprecedented success with the support of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Agricultural exports hit 6.5 million tons for the first time and tapped new markets; Egyptian citrus products were sent for the first time to the Japanese market, while grapes were formally granted access to the Chinese market.
Quseir made the remarks during a meeting with the board of the Agricultural Professions Syndicate.
Quseir said the Egyptian state can increase agro-exports to secure hard currency, while promoting agricultural manufacturing processes to realize added value.
He added that the Egyptian agricultural sector managed to bear several international crises, including coronavirus and the Russia-Ukrainian crisis.
He highlighted the role of agricultural cooperatives in solving the problems of crop marketing.
He stressed the political leadership’s interest in land reclamation in New Delta, Toshka, East Owainat and northern and central Sinai, noting that these projects will contribute to shrinking the food gap.
He also underlined the important of researches serving agricultural economy, especially those that help forging solutions leading to upping agricultural revenues.
