Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi toured on Friday a number of axes and road projects in Giza Governorate to follow up work progress done so far. He also checked the construction of new roads, with a total length of 200km, Presidential Spokesman Counselor Ahmed Fahmy said.
The president’s tour included development and expansion works of the 11km-long Ahmed Orabi Axis, connecting el-Manshia Road with Ahmed Orabi Street.
The axis, which includes six traffic lanes to each direction, was linked to the Ring Road and the axis of Lieutenant General Kamal Amer to become an alternative axis solving many traffic problems in Giza, the spokesman said.
Fahmy added the new axes and roads in Giza will mainly contribute to reducing travel time in the governorate. This is part of the national plan for axes and roads nationwide to scale up economic development and improve living conditions of people as per the state’s Sustainable Development strategy (SDS).
