The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development on Monday announced details of the public investment plan for Giza Governorate for 2022-2023.
The ministry intends to acquaint the public of the priorities of the sustainable development plan for fiscal year 2022-2023 and their role in achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Some LE76 billion has been allocated to Giza governorate in FY 2022-2023, marking an increase of 15 per cent from the 2022-2021 plan, in addition to the projects implemented under the Egyptian Rural Development Project ‘Decent Life.’
The minister said the sustainable development plan for 2022-2023 fiscal year attaches importance to different governorates to achieve swift and tangible development. It focuses on general investments in the fields of social and economic infrastructure in order to benefit all citizens nationwide, especially youth, women and people with special abilities.
Some 557 development projects were carried out in the governorate in various sectors.
Investment of LE48.4 billion was directed to the transport sector, followed by the housing with LE15 billion, the antiquities, LE3 billion, and higher education and scientific research, LE2.9 billion, the minister said.
Pre-university education has received investment of LE431.9 million, and other sectors in the governorate, LE6.5 billion.
The ministry said in a report out yesterday that the presidential rural development initiative Decent Life covers 42 villages in Giza for 787,000 people.
Around LE2.3 billion was allocated to drinking water and sanitation in 85 projects, in addition to 54 projects in higher education and 14 in pre-university education.
The ministry intends to involve the public at all stages of development, from planning to impact assessment, el-Saeed said.
