Ali Hassan, 10, was treated to a 7-day holiday in Luxor by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
Ali from Sinai won the prize for reciting poetry as part of celebrations marking the 32nd anniversary of the Liberation of Taba.
Ali Hassan is one of many talented individuals in Abu Zenima on the South Sinai coast of whom South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda has been taking care for several years.
Ali recites poetry in Bedouin dialect and Egyptian colloquial Arabic, so the governor dubbed him the ‘young Abnoudi’ after Egyptian poet Abdel Rahman el-Abnoudi (1938-2015).
Alongside Ali were singers Arwa Saleh from Sharm el-Sheikh, Rahma Mohamed from Tur Sinai, Wael Mohamed from Tur Sinai and Mohamed el-Sayed, from Abu Zenima.
