Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ordered producing drama works which highlight heroism of Egyptian policemen to help the current generation get acquainted with the great sacrifices they made to serve the homeland.
In comments while watching a drama work showing sacrifices of police personnel during Ismailia incidents in 1952, the president said citizens should learn more about these figures through drama to spotlight Egyptians who work in the police sector.
President Sisi was attending the 71st celebration of Police Day on Monday at the Police Academy’s HQ.
The president urged the production of short drama episodes, which do not exceed five serials characterizing every personality who played a heroic role in the police apparatus to enable people to keep abreast of these patriotic police personnel.
Police Day is observed on January 25 every year.
Police Day commemorates resistance by Egyptian police to British occupation forces in Ismailia in 1952, which resulted in the death of dozens of police officers
