Egyptian Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met on Wednesday with French Ambassador to Egypt Marc Baréty and Country Director for the French Development Agency (AFD) in Egypt Clemence Vidal De La Blache to discuss means to boost joint co-operation in the health sector.
The meeting tackled the developmental projects implemented in co-operation between the Health Ministry and the AFD, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said.
The meeting also took up co-operation opportunities to support healthcare services projects in Egypt, in addition to co-operation in providing hospitals with medical equipment especially intensive care units and implementing the comprehensive health insurance system, he said.
The minister asserted the importance of benefiting from co-operation between the ministry and the AFD, the spokesman said, adding that both sides discussed challenges facing the implementation of projects within the framework of the French side’s keenness on supporting Egypt in sustainable development projects especially in the healthcare field.
