CHICAGO – Egypt’s Consul General in Chicago and the Midwestern United States Ambassador Sameh Abul Enein visited Burr Ridge, a suburb of Chicago, at an invitation of its mayor Gary Grasso.

During his visit, he held meetings with members of the district council of Burr Ridge in charge of following up the daily affairs of the citizens there. The council hosts the main Egyptian Coptic Church and the Mecca Center for Arab and Egyptian communities in Chicago – Illinois.

The two sides discussed setting up an investment fund by the Egyptian-American businessmen from Chicago, MENA reported.

They also agreed to form a working group between Egyptian-American businessmen from Chicago, the Burr Ridge mayor’s office, and the Augustus Foundation to boost cooperation between the Egyptian and US sides in general and to implement what has been agreed upon in particular.

The meeting was attended by Egyptian-American Mary Alexander-Basta, the mayor of Bolingbrook, Illinois, and Sheikh Hassan Moustafa Aly, the Imam and Director of Religious affairs at The Mecca Center in Willowbrook, Illinois, as well as other Egyptian businessmen.

Kim Steve, Partner at Augustus Global LLC Greater Chicago Area, and Eugene Carpino, CEO at Augustus Global LLC, also attended the meeting.
