WASHINGTON – US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt on November 11 to take part in COP27, the US Department of State posted on its website.
While in Sharm El-Sheikh, Blinken will join US President Biden at COP27 to advance the United States’ efforts to strengthen global climate ambition.
He will support Biden in urging countries to implement their climate commitments, encouraging all nation contributions to be aligned with the 1.5 degree Celsius goal of the Paris Agreement and ensuring that COP27 is responsive to the priorities and needs of the African continent and of the vulnerable developing countries and communities everywhere.
