Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi witnessed on Monday the inauguration of the high-level segment for heads of state and governments participating at the UN Climate Summit (COP27).
A number of world leaders and top international figures including UN Secretary General António Guterres, President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and Senegal President Macky Sall, head of the upcoming UN Summit and African Union President, will deliver speeches at the opening plenary session.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Tunisian Prime Minister Najla Bouden, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and French President Emmanuel Macron are attending the session.
The high-level segment for heads of state and governments will be held on Monday and Tuesday. Over the two days, six roundtables will be held for discussions among the world leaders.
