Downtown Cairo is witnessing a mixture of ancient and new Egyptian heritage as an art exhibition is being displayed in nine various places in the area.
For the second time in a row, downtown Cairo hosted “the Cairo International Art Distract” fair, which represents a number of group and individual exhibitions of contemporary art, as well as freelance art projects.
“Art D’Egypt” presents art exhibitions, including photographs, paintings and sculptures with the participation of 100 artists, 20 of which are international artists, from Italy, Tunisia, Sweden, Spain, Emirates, Britain, Sudan, France, Argentina, German, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland and United States.
The founder of ” Art D’Egypt” Nadine Abdel Ghaffar said, during her speech at the opening of Cinema Radio, “Cairo International Art Distract” marks an artistic message with cultural and social dimensions: heritage is mixed with contemporary art in a masterpiece artistic photo in the oldest places in downtown Cairo.
Every year, “Art D’Egypt” presents a part of the Egyptian civilization, and this year artist Hossam Zaki managed to work on the project of “Bastet cats”.
Abdel Ghaffar said that downtown Cairo is selected to host the fair as it has a great history that extends to the 19th century, and a number of international famous architects built it, adding that it recently has become one of the important arts and creativity centers.
The Cairo International Art Distract is the first step in the journey of the 2nd edition of the international fair “Forever Is Now,” which will be held in the Pyramids area at the end of October.
“Forever is now” is the first of its kind since more than 4500 years, the date of building the Pyramids, and it will be under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Egyptian Tourist Authority and the UNESCO.
