Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi followed up on the latest developments of the executive situation of the national project for agricultural production and land reclamation in the Toshka region in the south of the New Valley, within the framework of the state’s strategy to increase the country’s arable land area.
This came during the President’s meeting on Thursday with Minister of Defense Mohamed Zaki as well as top government officials, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the meeting, the President was briefed on the efforts to develop the infrastructure of roads and axes, and the provision of machinery and equipment, including modern irrigation methods, water stations, and agricultural mechanisation in the area.
This comes in addition to the integration of work mechanisms between the relevant sectors, in order to achieve the desired strategic goal of adding new areas to the arable land, which would help develop the agricultural production sector and achieve self-sufficiency in strategic crops, as well as creating thousands of job opportunities.
