Jordanian Minister of Agriculture Khalid Al-Hanifat has lauded Egypt’s experiment launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to develop agriculture and land reclamation fields.
He told MENA on Thursday that Egypt now reaps the benefits of this experiment, stressing that his country is keen to cement co-operation with Cairo in the field of agriculture and other domains.
Jordan supports the Egyptian experiment or any new Arab experiment in the sector of agriculture amid repeated crises weather in the region or the world, particularly the recent Russian-Ukrainian crisis, he said.
The minister reiterated that Cairo works on having strategic stockpile, not only for Egypt, but also for the region entirely.
Egypt and Jordan have the highest levels of agricultural co-operation, Al-Hanifat said, stressing that his country aims to strengthen such co-operation and trade exchange with Cairo.
Jordan is commending Egypt’s hosting of the United Nations climate change conference (COP27), to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh in November, he pointed out.
Amman also backs Cairo on its measures to protect Egypt’s water rights, Al-Hanifat added.
