The Ministry of Civil Aviation is witnessing the expansion of co-operation horizons with various countries of the world, said Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas said.
The minister’s remarks came during his meeting with the Japanese ambassador in Cairo. During the meeting, the minister and ambassador discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries and discuss future co-operation opportunities in various civil aviation activities as well as opening new horizons for co-operation through future projects in light of the strong relations between Egypt and Japan in the field of air transport.
The minister stressed the strength of the close relations between Egypt and Japan in various fields, especially civil aviation activities, as the first “environmentally friendly” building is currently being constructed at Borg El Arab International Airport in co-operation with the Japanese agency JICA which comes among the most important projects of the Egyptian civil aviation sector.
This comes as part of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s strategy to transform Egyptian airports into “environmentally-friendly airports” through the use of clean, new and renewable energy and the reduction of carbon emissions and environmental pollution in accordance with the Egyptian state’s vision 2030 in order to achieve sustainable development goals.
For his part, the Japanese envoy confirmed that the Egyptian civil aviation system is witnessing a great development during the current period through the moderni–ation of infrastructure and development projects in Egyptian airports. He pointed out that the Egyptian civil aviation sector is one of the promising sectors to attract more investments.
The civil aviation minister also met with the French envoy in Cairo to discuss ways of joint co-operation and support for bilateral relations between Egypt and France in the field of air transport.
During the meeting, a number of issues of common interest and effective co-operation were discussed, which would contribute to revitalising the air and tourism movement between the two countries.
The minister also pointed to the importance of joint co-operation with France in various air transport activities and opening new horizons in a way that enhances bilateral relations between the two countries and contributes to stimulating and increasing air traffic, in line with the development boom that Egypt is witnessing at all levels in order to achieve the highest rates of economic development and attract more foreign investments.
He added that France is a very important economic partner for Egypt in many fields, including civil aviation.
For his part, the French ambassador stressed the importance of the role of the Egyptian civil aviation sector in strengthening and deepening the bilateral relations between the two countries, especially that Egypt and France have strong political, economic and cultural relations. The Egyptian civil aviation sector is witnessing a great development.
The minister also received the UK ambassador in Cairo to discuss ways of joint co-operation and support for relations between Egypt and Britain in the field of air transport.
Minister Abbas pointed to the importance of continuous co-operation and coordination between the two countries, which contributes to the revitalisation of air and tourism traffic, which is witnessing great development.
He also stressed that the Ministry of Civil Aviation welcomes more co-operation and partnership with Britain in various air transport activities within the framework of the Egyptian state’s vision towards achieving development.
It also spares no effort to support aspects of co-operation, training and exchange of expertise between the two countries in the field of civil aviation, praising the fruitful co-operation between Egypt and Britain in various aviation activities in light of the strong relations between the two countries.
The minister also received Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Issam bin Saeed where the two ministers discussed prospects for co-operation and ways to enhance partnership between the two countries in various air transport activities.
The meeting dealt with a number of topics of common interest in the field of air transport in light of the increase in air traffic between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, ways to enhance co-operation, exchange expertise, coordination mechanism, and unify visions and positions between the two brotherly countries in international forums.
The minister also discussed with the Brazilian ambassador in Cairo ways to enhance co-operation between Egypt and Brazil in various air transport activities.
