Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on Thursday the State is keen on securing strategic stockpiles of commodities sufficient for at least six months and is working hard to provide these commodities on markets at affordable price despite soaring energy prices.
During the inauguration of the Olympic Village and the launching of Suez Canal Authority’s (SCA) new marine units, Sisi said the government was able to price energy less than global rates after the giant Zohr field, one of the largest offshore gas fields discovered in the Mediterranean, came into service.
The President said the final dredging and expansion operations of Suez Canal are likely to be finalized mid next year in order to achieve hopped-for goals from the expansion of two-way section of the international waterway.
He greeted all workers and officials at Suez Canal Authority for the good results they achieved over the past period, hoping these accomplishments will be increased within the coming period.
Sisi stressed that all projects carried out by the government in the transport field and the other sectors are essential for building the Egyptian State.
He stressed that the State is committed to honor its obligations towards pensioners.
