CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Soha Gendy has discussed with Egypt’s Ambassador in Kiev Ayman El Gammal conditions of the Egyptian community in Ukraine in aftermath of recent developments as well as coordination between the two sides to meet the needs of the community members including students.
A statement issued by the ministry Monday said the minister appreciated the role of the Foreign ministry and Embassy in Kiev in serving Egypt’s expatriates in Ukraine and offering support for the students to continue their study.
Egypt had managed to repatriate 1,270 Egyptian students through an airlift from Ukraine so far and worked on settling their conditions at Egyptian universities.
For his part, the ambassador highlighted cooperation efforts with the emigration ministry to meet the needs of the Egyptian expatriates in Ukraine and settle the status of Egyptian students there.
