The first edition of women championship was launched in Hurghada city in Egypt on Thursday.
It is organised by the National Council for Women in co-operation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
As many as 800 female players will take part in the two-day tournament.
Red Sea Governorate said in a statement today that different games are included in the championship, covering Karate, Kickboxing, Gymnastics, Ballet, Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball and Swimming.
The tournament aims to encourage women to do physical exercises in the Red Sea and get societal support, and thus raising the public awareness about women issues.
