Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel-Aal received on Wednesday local development ministers of Burundi, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Morocco, Niger, South Sudan, Uganda and Zimbabwe at the Africa Regional Office for North Africa in Cairo (NARO).
The meeting came on the sidelines of their participation in the fourth session of the African Union’s technical committee for public services, local governments, urban development and decentralisation.
The event, held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, hosted delegations from 55 African countries, along with representatives of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme and the World Food Programme, the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
During the meeting, the governor said that Egypt is working hard to achieve integration among African countries and put into effect the Africa Agenda 2063.
Abdel-Aal said Egypt seeks to offer a chance for decent life in local communities which it considers as the basis for confronting the challenges besetting Africa.
