AMMAN – Jordanian Minister of Culture Haifaa al Najjar said Egypt has presented a unique and distinguished model in combating extremism and terrorism through cultural fields.
In an interview with MENA, Najjar expressed admiration for Egypt’s experience in countering terrorism and its culture ministry’s relevant strategy, asserting that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives on that score have led to the success of this strategy and its content.
The diversity and spread of Egyptian cultural activities across the country have contributed to the elimination of extremist thoughts, the minister noted.
Najjar also affirmed her country’s aspiration for further cultural cooperation and coordination with Cairo, pointing out to Egypt’s participation in the recently held Jerash Festival and Jordan’s participation in Cairo’s Citadel Festival for Music and Singing.
