Egyptian Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker conferred with Regional Director of the Australian company Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) for the Middle East and North Africa Moataz Kandil on means to boost co-operation between the FFI and the sector of electricity and renewable energy in addition to increasing the investment opportunities in the fields of green hydrogen and green ammonia.
In statements on Tuesday, Shaker lauded the distinguished political relations between Egypt and Australia, welcoming co-operation with the Australian companies in the projects of electricity.
This meeting reflects the keenness of the Ministry of Electricity to boost co-operation between Egypt and Australia during the coming period and benefit from the developed expertise of the Australian companies in the field of renewable energy, Shaker said.
Meanwhile, Kandil lauded the Egyptian sector of electricity and renewable energy for their huge expertise in all the domains and the reforms achieved in Egypt and the tangible development in the Egyptian electricity sector during the past period.
Kandil asserted that Egypt is a successful example to be followed by all the countries of the world.
He also asserted the desire of the FFI to co-operate with the Egyptian side in the different fields especially in the field of increasing the contribution of renewable energy including solar and wind energies.
Kandil asserted the importance exchanging points of view in the coming period to get ready for organising COP 27 due in November in Sharm el Sheikh.
