Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inspected on Wednesday the building of the General Organisation for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) during his visit to Dekheila port in Alexandria.
During the tour, the premier stood on the efforts exerted by the GOEIC, especially with regarding raising efficiency of the its labs infrastructure in Dekheila port in addition to establishing a new building for chemical and industrial labs for checking imported goods at Alexandria and Dekheila ports.
GOEIC Chairman Essam Nagar said the new building was opened in February to house 29 labs covering all traditional goods checking domains in addition to four labs covering new fields, including polymer, biodegradable plastic and detergents and soap, in addition to checking wood, construction materials and textiles.
The premier inspected the lab for biodegradable plastic which was established within the framework of preparations for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) which Egypt will host in November.
