AL council meeting kicks off to discuss Russia-Ukraine crisis

An Arab League (AL) Council meeting at the level of permanent representatives kicked off at the AL’s premises on Thursday.

Held upon Ukraine’s request, the meeting will be chaired by Lebanese Ambassador to Egypt and its AL’s permanent delegate Ali al Halabi along with AL Assistant Secretary-General Hossam Zaki.

The meeting is set to discuss the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine crisis along with the Arab mediation efforts in resolving the ongoing crisis,

The AL Council at the Arab foreign ministers’ level decided on March 9 to form an Arab ministerial contact group to discuss the Ukraine crisis and its ramifications on the Arab countries.
