Egypt’s headline monthly inflation recorded an increase by 0.9 per cent last July, if compared to the same month last year, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS).
CAPMAS attributed the rise in inflation rates to the notable increase in the prices of cereal and bread by 1 per cent, dairy, cheese and egg group by 5.2 per cent, fruits by 7.5 per cent and transportation services by 6.4 per cent.
The annual headline inflation accelerated to 14.6 per cent last July, up from 6.1 per cent in the correspondent month of 2021, it added.
