Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri, praised the continuous cooperation between Egypt and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) at various levels and in various themes, including the UNIDO climate strategy, which is currently being discussed with the member states of the organisation. This strategy is an important step at the level of coordinating environment-friendly policies and practices, especially in the industrial sectors.
The remarks by the foreign minister who was appointed president of the 27th session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change came during a phone he received on Tuesday from Gerd Müller, Director-General of UNIDO.
The phone call touched upon means of cooperation between Egypt and UNIDO within the framework of COP27 meeting, which will be hosted and chaired by Egypt next November. They also discussed prospects for cooperation between the two sides in this regard.
