BEIRUT – A new part of grain silos at Beirut Port collapsed on Thursday as Lebanon marks the 2nd anniversary of a massive explosion that damaged the port.
According to the Lebanese news agency, four parts have fallen so far from the northern side of Beirut Port silos, with dust covering the direction of Ashrafieh and inside areas of Beirut.
The 2020 Beirut port blast left 220 people dead and around 6,500 others injured. Some 300,000 people were left homeless, and more than 160 schools were destroyed, impacting the education of over 85,000 students.
