CAIRO – The Egyptian Finance Ministry said that 75% of State employees are ready to receive their salaries via Meeza cards.

The ministry, meanwhile, urged the rest of the State employees to activate their governmental debit cards through their banks to benefit from the privileges of Meeza prepaid cards.

The move serves the country’s strategy for achieving the financial inclusion, enhancing the services provided to the citizens, and boosting the governance and transparency, the ministry added in a statement.

Meeza new contactless cards are activated to support cash withdrawal, deposit and transfer services from ATM, as well as online shopping, paying through the POS devices and other advanced services, it added.

The statement also noted that Meeza cards will provide an in-advance monthly salaries withdrawal service — 30 percent of the total salary — for the State’s employees that will be for free for the first six months of using these cards.
