SHARM EL SHEIKH, Egypt – The UN COP27 conference, which will be held in Sharm El Sheikh in November, represents a perfect opportunity to protect the biological diversity from the existential threat of climate change, affirmed Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad.

The minister’s remarks were made while inspecting Ras Mohammed Nature Reserve in Sharm El Sheikh to follow up the environmental conditions and ongoing development work there.

Fouad, meanwhile, stressed the importance of the Ras Mohammed protectorate for global eco-tourism as it is one of the most lovely beaches in the world. Additionally, she noted, the region boasts a unique cultural and traditional nature which is well preserved by the local population who are an essential and indispensable element in the success of the development strategy implemented by her ministry in the area.

Moreover, the minister met with a number of visitors to the reserve and tourists who praised its precautionary measures and management system in addition to the beautiful nature of the reserve.
