YAOUNDÉ – The Egyptian Sambo team snatched five medals in the first day of the 16th African Sambo Championships held in Cameroon’s capital, Yaoundé till July 19, with the participation of 15 African countries.
Samah Abdel Latif won the gold medal in the 72-kg category, while Khaled El Wensh clinched the silver medal in the 98-kg category.
Seif Mohsen and Abdul Rahman El Damrani grabbed the bronze medal in the 64-kg and 71-kg categories respectively.
Ten male and female Sambo athletes are taking part in the tournament to compete for the title.
