President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed the deep and special relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in all fields and highlighted the importance of maximising the role of the authorities concerned with youth and sports in both countries in the development of the young people culturally and socially as well as in sports as they represent the majority among the population of both countries.
During the meeting with Saudi Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Olympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President Sisi discussed ways of enhancing co-operation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia and the importance of exchanging expertise in the youth and sports fields in both countries. He also underscored the need to benefit from such expertise in investing the energies of youth and building effective young community cadres, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
The president also stressed that Egypt pays great attention to young people, in terms of providing the best possible level of sports infrastructure in all cities and villages, including sports clubs and youth centres, in addition to making them aware of the importance of practicing in sports to raise the level of public health of citizens of all ages, President Sisi added.
He also reviewed various youth and sports projects and initiatives implemented by the state in various governorates nationwide.
For his part, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki praised his country’s interest in boosting youth and sports fields, especially by adopting several interactive initiatives with young people and holding national, regional and international events and conferences in this regard.
The Saudi minister also affirmed the Kingdom’s interest in strengthening co-operation with Egypt in the field of joint sports activities, which represent a bridge to maximise interaction and strengthen the bonds of relations between the two peoples on a regular basis and at a large scale.
The minister also praised in this context the major national sports projects that have been developed in Egypt, including Olympic cities and villages as well as a new and modern sports infrastructure that supports organising joint sporting events, whether regionally or globally.
