Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said Egypt will work during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNCCC) COP27 that will open in the Red Sea Resort City of Egypt in Nov. on coordinating the African stance regarding a host of climate change issues.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance Sunday the Egyptian minister said, in a meeting with Malian Minister of Economy and Finance Alousséni Sanou, Egypt will endeavor during the upcoming meeting of the African ministers of finance, economy and environment to reach a unified Africa vision on climate finance-related issues.
Sanou, who took part in the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in Egypt said he discussed with the Egyptian minister ways of bolstering bilateral ties in the various domains, in light of Egypt’s efforts to realize African integration in the face of international Challenges, the statement said.
Egypt will adopt initiatives and proposals to be brought forward during the African ministers of finance, economy and environment meeting in September to help African countries address climate challenges and move to green economy, the minister said.
The minister also shed light on Egypt’s economic reform experiment that rendered the Egyptian economy resilient.
