The Academy of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) opened Thursday after an extensive overhaul.
AOI chairman Abdel Monem el-Terras, Minister of Education Tarek Shawqi and Minister of Industry and Trade Neveen Gamie attended the opening.
The academy has undergone a comprehensive overhaul as instructed by President Abdel Fattah el Sisi for upgrading the nation’s industrial training facilities in response to digital demand and industrial advances worldwide.
The academy was overhauled in order to push technical education and training in Egypt many steps forward, Education Minister Tarek Shawqi said.
The academy, he added, uses the most modern industrial equipment in the training of its students, in cooperation with the German company DMG MORI, a worldwide leader in tools for turning and milling.
TThe academy would train its students in mechanical industrial management and digital transformation in line with the standards of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, he said, adding that the overhaul is part of his ministry’s plan for modernising technical education.
Schools for applied technologies have been built with the cooperation of the private sector and international agencies, he said, adding that the new schools have proved popular among preparatory school graduates.
For her part, Industy Minister Nevine Gamea said the overhaul of the academy reflected the government’s policy of building the capacities necessary for the progress of the industrial sector.
