The Decent Life Foundation on Wednesday handed over several houses to the people in the West Aswan village, Aswan, after reconstruction and renovation.
The move came in response to directives by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi following his visit to Aswan last November.
During his visit to the West Aswan village, President Sisi inspected the houses that were damaged by the floods that hit Egypt’s southernmost governorate. Decent Life officials briefed the president on the foundation’s urgent intervention to deal with the crisis in all the villages afflicted by the floods, in collaboration with state bodies.
West Aswan citizens expressed thanks to President Sisi for his great interest in their welfare, and his eagerness to visit them in person in a show of solidarity at the time of crisis. They also voiced gratitude to the Decent Lifepresidential initiative.
Reconstructing the houses, many of them were destroyed by the floods, is part of Decent Life initiative’s social role toward the needy people across the nation.
