BAGHDAD – Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Monday the tripartite co-operation framework among Egypt, Jordan and Iraq aims to support Iraq’s stability and sovereignty in light of challenges it faces.
Shoukry was speaking during a meeting with his Iraqi and Jordanian counterparts, Fuad Hussein and Ayman Safadi, respectively, in Baghdad.
The keenness of the three countries’ political leaderships to enhance co-operation comes to serve their peoples’ interests, Shoukry added.
Shoukry, during the press conference, was keen on congratulating Iraq and its people on anti-terrorism accomplishments and its endeavors to restore its regional and international position.
The top diplomat expressed his belief that the challenges that the three countries face could be overcome through their tripartite co-operation, saying he is looking forward to bolstering the Arab national security through the tripartite framework and the Arab League.
The three ministers discussed what had been accomplished in co-operation areas, especially the economic one.
