CAIRO- Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghafar conferred on Monday with South Sudan Health Minister Yolanda Awel Deng on continuing co-operation between the two sides to eradicate Hepatitis C from South Sudan in view of Egypt’s expertise in this field.
The meeting was held on the fringe of the activities of the first edition of Africa Health ExCon, the biggest medical exhibition and conference in Africa, which is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi from June 5-7.
The conference held under the theme of “Your Gate to Innovation and Trade”, constitutes a pivotal hub for trade and investment in Africa, in addition to being the biggest sustainable platform in the health sphere, enabling participants to exchange views, expertise and work out solutions for health problems facing the health sector across Africa.
Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghafar said the meeting covered providing South Sudan with all medical supplies and equipment to help the health system detect and treat the patients of Hepatitis C, adding that this comes in implementation of President Sisi’s directives to help African states.
They also addressed enlarging cooperation in exchanging expertise and training of human cadres in the medical field, the spokesman added.
