CAIRO – The Foreign Ministry announced that preparations are underway to restore a group of ancient Egyptian artifacts that had been already been handed over to Egyptian Ambassador to Switzerland Wael Gad from the Federal Office of Culture in August in 2021.
In a press statement on Saturday, the ministry said that the artifacts include a statue of a woman made from alabaster, a stone piece with inscriptions that represent pat of God Bes, a cover for a Canopic pot, Sphinx statue made of stone, painting with inscriptions and writings and a cylinder alabaster pot.
It pointed out that this comes within the framework of the priority given by the Egyptian state to the file of restoring smuggled Egyptian artifacts and bringing it back home.
The ministry also pointed out to the efforts it exerts via foreign missions in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism.
