CAIRO – Egyptian Ministry of Finance has notified the Central Agency for Organization and Administration about the approval for making all promotions of civil servants who meet the set conditions on June 30 under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Finance Minister Mohamed Mait said.
He detailed in a statement on Saturday that some EGP1 billion was allocated in the budget of the new fiscal year to take this step.
A total of EGP400 billion was allocated in the new budget to improve the income of 4.5 million civil servants under Sisi’s directives.
The limit of taxes exemption for individuals was increased from EGP9,000 to EGP15,000, which costs EGP7 billion a year.
EGP5 billion was also allocated to appoint 60,000 teachers, doctors and pharmacists, the minister added.
