KIEV – An adviser to President Zelensky ruled out the possibility of agreeing to a ceasefire and reiterated that Ukraine will not accept any deal with Moscow that would involve territorial concessions, Hurra channel reported.
Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said concessions to the Kremlin would have negative consequences for Ukraine, as Russia would strike even harder after any break in hostilities.
In this regard, Podolyak said, Kyiv’s position on the war is becoming more and more uncompromising.
“The war will not stop [after this or that concession], it will just be suspended for a while,” he said. “The Russians will continue to build up their military power, accumulate manpower, modernize, work on mistakes, rotate their generals, and after a while they will launch a new offensive, with new intensity, even more bloody and large-scale.”
Podoliak called Western calls for an urgent ceasefire in which Russian troops would remain in the territory they occupied in southern and eastern Ukraine “very strange”: Russian troops “should leave the country , and after that it will be possible to resume the peace process, ” the official said.
