Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar inspected Sphinx International Airport to follow up the final stages in its expansion.
The total area of the departures and arrival terminals has been increased sixfold to 24,000 square metres, thereby raising handling capacity to 900 passengers per hour and 1.2 million a year.
The minister also inspected the administrative offices, the duty-free zone, the control tower, the baggage handling area, the runway and the security systems.
Manar called for the prompt completion of all work on the airport facilities, stressing the need for top-quality services, facilities, comfort levels and landscaping.
