CAIRO – The Egyptian Presidency mourns the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, who lived for his country and always extended a helping hand to build and support Arab and Muslim states.
“The Arab world lost one of its loyal figures today,” the Presidency said in a statement Friday.
During his rule, Sheikh Khalifa continued on the work of his late father Sheikh Zayed al Nahyan, the wise man of the Arab world, read the statement.
He contributed to the renaissance and modernization of the UAE, it noted.
The Egyptian leadership, government and people will never forget stances of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan in support of Egypt through critical circumstances, the statement said.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi mourns to Egypt and the Arab and Muslim worlds the death of a brother and a best friend, the statement added.
On behalf of Egypt, Sisi condoles with the family of al Nahyan for the death of Sheikh Khalifa.
Sisi prayed for further progress, prosperity, peace and stability in the UAE.
