Libyan lawmakers held meetings in Cairo on Friday for the third day in a row, in their bid to determine their country’s constitutional track for the coming period.
Egypt hosts the meetings of the Libyan MPs under sponsorship from the United Nations.
Participating in the meetings along with the members of the Libyan House of Representatives are members of the Libyan State Council.
Libyan sources said the meetings take place in a positive atmosphere. They added that participants are keen on moving ahead with their consultations to ensure serving the national interests of their country.
Top on the agenda of the meetings of the Libyan lawmakers are the executive mechanisms required to approve the constitutional and legislative basis for the national elections in Libya, the sources said.
