Egyptian Ambassador in Juba Moaataz Mostafa Abdel Qader has voiced the Egyptian political leadership’s keenness on providing all possible support for South Sudan.
During a meeting with Secretary-General of South Sudan’s Islamic Council Abdulla Burj on Wednesday, the ambassador greeted the South Sudanese people on the occasion of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
Abdel Qader gave the South Sudanese scholar a number of religious books, which are gifted by the Awqaf Ministry.
He also highlighted the pivotal role played by Egypt in spreading moderate teachings of Islam.
For his part, Burj valued the support provided by Egyptian religious institutions for the South Sudanese people.
He took the ambassador on a field tour of an Islamic educational institute in Juba to check on the educational process.
The Islamic Council is keen to enhance co-operation with Egypt in the field of technical education, he said, describing Egypt as a pillar of moderation and enlightenment.
