CAIRO – French Minister of the Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire said on Monday President Emmanuel Macron and the French government are keen to support Egypt, especially after being harmed due to the hike in prices and decline in global wheat supplies.
President Macron is keen on offering all forms of support to Egypt and countries which face the negative ramifications of growing international crises, Le Maire said after his talks with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.
Le Maire described his meetings with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Madbouli as fruitful and constructive and showing the strong friendship between the two countries.
The French minister mentioned that the second part of today’s talks focused on signed contracts between the two countries, including that on establishing a new metro line in Cairo, adding his visit paves the way for more cooperation in various domains.
