Minister of Culture, Dr Enas Abdel-Dayem, attended a play titled “Waiting for Papa” which is directed by veteran director Samir Al-Asfoury, at the National Theatre. Director Khaled Galal, head of the cultural production sector, director Ismail Mukhtar, head of the artistic house of the theatre, actor Ihab Fahmy, director of the National Theatre and a number of artists and scenarists have also attended the performance.
“Waiting for Baba”, presented by the National Theater Troupe and produced by the Artistic House of Theater, mixes verses from the famous poetic epic of Homer’s Illiad with views of Freud’s analysis of “Electra complex”. The show aims to spread the values of peace, tolerance and coexistence between humans in general.
The show is starring: Samah Anwar with the participation of Buthaina Rashwan, Ahmed Salama, Mofid Ashour, Maher Mahmoud, Samiha Abdel Hadi, Fathi Saad, Ayman Ismail, Ali Kamalo, Basma Shawky, Walid Abu Steit and Khaled Abdel Hamid. Lighting by Mustafa Ezz El-Din. Music by Ahmed Nasser. Choreography by Diaa Shafiq, set design by Ihab Al-Awamry, costumes by Amani Hosni and directed by Samir Al-Asfoury.
