CAIRO – Egypt’s Transport Minister Kamel Wazir inspected the progress realized so far in the second line of the express electric train (October/ Luxor/ Aswan).
In a statement on Sunday, he underlined the importance of commitment to quality standards as well as traffic safety measures.
He also highlighted the importance of taking coronavirus precautionary measures in working places.
He noted that the coming period will witness the inking of contracts with Siemens company for the second and third lines.
The express electric train network is eco-friendly and marks a leap in shifting to green sustainable transportation.
The second and third phases of the express train project are linking 6th of October, Aswan as well as Hurghada, Safaga, Qena and Luxor.
The first line of the high-speed electric train network is currently being implemented in the distance from Ain Sukhna to Matrouh, passing through the new administrative capital, El Alamein and Alexandria, with a length of about 600 km; where bridges and industrial works for tracks, stations and fences are being implemented by major Egyptian companies specialized in these fields, in addition to industrial works on roads intersecting with the train track.
