Tahya Misr Fund launched a comprehensive development convoy on Tuesday to support 10,000 families in the areas of Halayeb, Shalateen and Abu Ramad, providing healthcare, social services and in-kind assistance in co-operation with Ain Shams University and the Red Sea Governorate.
The initiative aims to strengthen social protection and reach vulnerable families in remote and border areas, in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives.
Tamer Abdel Fattah, the fund’s executive director, said the convoy forms part of ongoing efforts to expand social protection and ease living burdens on vulnerable families across the country.
The convoy will distribute 10,000 food boxes containing a total of 112 tonnes of food supplies. It will also provide support through the Dokan El-Farha (Happiness Store) initiative, including 5,000 new clothing items, 1,500 school bags filled with school supplies, and a range of electrical and household appliances.
Special assistance will be offered to people with disabilities, including wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and personal care supplies, to support their daily needs and independence.
The medical component, organised in co-operation with Ain Shams University, will provide examinations and treatment across several specialities, including internal medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, cardiology, orthopaedics, dermatology, dentistry, neurology and surgery.
Abdel Fattah said that the fund will continue to expand partnerships with universities, government bodies and civil society organisations to deliver development initiatives that respond to citizens’ actual needs.
