The Ministry of Justice and the Commercial International Bank (CIB) have signed a co-operation protocol aiming to expand premium notarisation services.
The protocol provides for setting up premium notarisation offices at the CIB’s branches, reads a ministry statement.
The move goes in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to modernise state institutions, improve quality of public services and facilitate citizen’s access to them through inter-agency collaboration.
Expanding the availability of notarisation services through banks reflect a modern approach adopted by the ministry, as part of a strategy that aims to move away from traditional practices, the statement noted.
The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Justice, Mahmoud Helmy El-Sherif, CIB’s CEO Hisham Ezz Al-Arab, and Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Mohamed Shaaban.
In remarks during the event, Minister El-Sherif stressed that the partnership with CIB extends the success of the initiative previously launched by the Ministry of Justice within the banking sector.
It is a model of integrated notarisation and banking services, the minister added, highly appreciating the CIB’s leadership and all those involved in this collaboration.
El-Sherif reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to expanding national partnerships aimed at bringing justice closer to the public and making its services more accessible to all segments of society.
For his part, the CEO’s chief Ezz Al-Arab said that the move offers a strategic step towards expanding the range of integrated services offered to customers and the public.
This involves leveraging CIB’s technological infrastructure and branch network to facilitate the simultaneous completion of banking transactions and related notarisation services, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the business environment and supporting the state’s drive toward digitalisation and procedure simplification.
