Law enforcement personnel from the Egyptian Armed Forces and civil police are continuing the third phase of a large-scale campaign to combat illegal gold mining activities in the Eastern Desert. The operation follows the distribution of warning leaflets to illegal miners as part of efforts to enforce full state sovereignty within Egypt’s borders and safeguard national resources and wealth.
The Egyptian Armed Forces reaffirmed the deep ties between the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples at both the political and popular levels, noting that the peaceful coexistence enjoyed by millions of Sudanese nationals living in Egypt stands as clear evidence of these strong relations.
The Armed Forces also urged the people of the Nile Valley to rely on official sources for information and avoid misleading rumours and external agendas aimed at undermining the fraternal relations between the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples.
